Apple is currently taking pre-orders for the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and the 7 Plus via Infibeam and Amazon India. As you probably know, the iPhone 7 in 128GB configuration will set you back by Rs 70,000 whereas the 256GB version will cost Rs 80,000. The 128GB and 256GB of the iPhone 7 Plus will cost Rs 82,000 and Rs 92,000 respectively. (PRODUCT)RED is more than just a fancy color, as Apple will donate proceeds from every purchase to support HIV/AIDS awareness programs across the world. So you’re contributing to a noble cause when purchasing either of these models. Apple has launched multiple devices in exclusive (PRODUCT)RED colors, starting off with the iPod a few years ago. It’s good to see that Apple isn’t overcharging customers for this particular variant as the proceeds are going for a noble cause. This means that Apple is, in turn, making lesser profits out of these variants since a part of the earnings will be given to HIV/AIDS charities. There’s still some vagueness about when the online retailers will start selling the products to the customers. However, Infibeam will apparently ship the handset on the 15th of April. One can only hope that Amazon will also start fulfilling orders on the same day. Infibeam is also offering a discount of Rs 1,001 with the iPhone 7, while Amazonhas a myriad of exchange offers in place, letting you save as much as Rs 13,000 on the new iPhones.
